Chobe National Park

October 22, 2014

From Livingstone International Airport it’s a 90-minute drive to the Botswana border, a quick 5-minute speedboat across the Zambezi River and another 20-minutes to Kasane Airport where I was met by my &Beyond Ranger from Chobe Under Canvas, a traditional mobile camp in Chobe National Park with just five tents. The camp moves every five to six days to private campsites, and offers fabulous wildlife viewing. A day at Chobe Under Canvas is spent cruising on the Chobe River in the camp’s private boat with your Guide. Chobe is home to some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. Savute Under Canvas is located in a remote corner of Chobe, and is known for its high concentration of lions. Each camp consists of five oversized tents, with flush toilets and traditional “bucket” showers, all new in October 2014.
